| Interview with Hot Gamers and Machinima.com Star Mason Storm aka Team Headkick How did you get started doing Mash-ups? I did a Viral Video 3 years ago, called the "Halo 3 Uber Rap" to help promote a friends movie. I figured why not add some gameplay from Halo and rap about it. I wrote it and recorded it in about 2 hours, we shot a little video, had some of our friends dance in it, and uploaded it.That video went viral overnight, we got Millions of views, and the fan support was overwhelming. I suddenly realized that there was an audience for my Nerdyness, and sarcastic humor, mixed with musicianship. TEAMHEADKICK was born. My biggest regret from that video was such horrible audio production. I literally recorded it directly into my Mac isight microphone, and it's obvious. I had no clue that it would become popular. Quality matters, thankfully the fans are forgiving due to the comedic lyrics, and dancing Master Chief. To date- which is your favorite mash-up and why? Well to be honest its a learning experience. Each one has its strengths and weaknesses. My favorite one as of this date is Left 4 Dead 2 Metal, because killing Zombies set to heavy metal is just a no brainer. No zombie fan can deny it. They go together like peanut butter and jelly. Where did the name Team Headkick originate? My Gamer Tag on xbox live is HEAD KICK. That name came from my love of Muay Thai (Thai Kickboxing), which I have trained in for about 6 years now. Since I collaborate with a beast guitar player, and songwriter I figured TEAMHEADKICK just the easiest name to use. Plus no one else on the internet has it anywhere. This makes it easy for the fans to find me. I also find our music and videos to be a "Kick to the Head" so to speak, compared to other Nerdcore music that I have listened to, or seen. What is your favorite video game? This one is always hard to answer. If I had to pick just one, it would be the Halo series. I have clocked serious hours on every title, I love first person shooters, and Halo captures everything perfect about brutal gunplay. However, I play a multitude of games, and really love many genre's. The Final Fantasy Series is another one that goes back to childhood for me. RPG's are just the greatest way to escape the real world. I play anything once, and generally know within about 5 minutes if I love it or hate it. But no matter the game, I always go back to Halo at some point. Who is your favorite video game character and why? Lara Croft. Tough, Sexy, Ass kicking woman that dual wields pistols. Who doesn't slobber over that? What is your favorite mindless flash game? Tetris. I can still play it for hours. Kill the Dog from Duckhunt runs a close second. I always tried to shoot that bastard when I was younger. :) When I'm not playing games I am.... Writing Music, Directing Videos, Watching Movies, Walking my dog, making people laugh, and perfecting my Kama Sutra techniques. Anything else that you want to share with your fans?
